When starting an exercise program, start slowly, remember to do a 5 minute active warm-up. Follow the FITT principle when exercising. FITT stands for Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type.

Frequency should be to exercise 3-5x a week.
Intensity would be your target heart rate range during exercise.
Time should be 30-50 minutes of cardio exercise or 150-200 minutes per week of aerobic exercise.
Type should be any of the activities mentioned above.

*We recommend picking something you like so you will stick with it long term. Also, stick with an activity that fits your schedule so you will be more likely to get it in most days of the week.
*During warmer weather remember to hydrate yourself, just because you’re not thirsty doesn’t mean you can’t become dehydrated.
*Always wear proper shoes and clothing. Be sure to layer and use sunblock. Certain medications can make you susceptible to sunburn and proper sunblock can prevent you from getting a sunburn while exercising outdoors.
*Always stretch and cooldown after your exercise activity, this will prevent injury and help enhance your flexibility.
