Youth Baseball Injuries On The Rise

Many news articles have discussed the rise of overuse injuries of the elbow and shoulder in young baseball players. The chairman of the board of the American Sports Medicine Institute says that these types of injuries have gone up five-to sevenfold since 2000. The good news is that overuse injuries can usually be prevented. One prevention method for young baseball and softball players is to follow pitch counts and rest period recommendations.
